I have never been a runner. I hate running. Seriously. In school, running the mile was about the worst thing ever.
Despite my hatred of running, I have been working on increasing my endurance running on the treadmill. As I have previously mentioned, I have hit a major plateau when it comes to losing weight. Running is my attempt to change things up enough to finally bust through that plateau...I hope!
Anyway, I have been increasing in minute intervals since late last week and today did a life-record of running for 8 minutes straight without stopping. Granted, I am only running at 5 miles/hour, but STILL. I much prefer the elliptical, but I am determined to at least be able to run 3 miles without stopping.
That is where the Couch to 5K program comes in!
I think I am going to start it up tomorrow--it will be taking a few steps back from where I am on my own right now, but I would rather start from the beginning than try to figure out where I am in the plan.
